LOVE IS MESSY SHIRT

So, this is my first post about a CRAFT!(And really pretty much first post ever) I have been looking at a bunch of different blogs out there, and have got some inspiration! So I don't really know blog "etiquette", but I will try my best!

I really wanted to make a shirt for my friend. I had seen the wording on a shirt in a store a while ago, LOVED IT, but was in too big of a hurry to buy it. So, since her life was pretty much described by the phrase "Love is messy", I decided to make it for her...


I did this part using freezer paper stenciling (my first time... I think it turned out well! :)

Next, I got some inspiration from t-shirts such as this....


And eventually came up with this!


I did this by gathering some knit fabric (like t-shirt material) using a long gathering stich,

I found that it gathered on its own, but I think it depends on the fabric type...

Then I cut off the rest of the fabric so it was the same same width on each side of the gathering stich.

Then I just sewed it on to the shirt along the word messy, and added the flowers with the same technique in the pink colour.

I love how it turned out! (And so did Amy)


Now I have to run out and buy another shirt so I can try something like it for myself!
